Annuario della S.I.S.C.A.\u201d  <strong>(Associazione Italiana di Storia della Critica d\u2019Arte ETS)<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Annuario\nis a peer-reviewed scientific periodical inspired by the ethical code for\npublications drawn up by the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), Best\nPractice Guidelines for Journal Editors. It is necessary for all the parties involved\n\u2013 authors, editors and referees \u2013 to be aware of and agree to the following ethical\nrequirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DUTIES OF THE DIRECTOR AND THE\nEDITOR-IN-CHIEF<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Decisions on publication<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The director\nof the periodical is responsible for the decision as to whether to publish the\narticles submitted or not. The director may refer to the periodical\u2019s scientific\ncommittee and is required to abide by the requirements of the laws on the subject\nof defamation, infringement of copyright and plagiarism. In taking his or her decisions,\nthe director may consult other editors or referees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Propriety<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The director\nappraises the articles submitted for publication based on their content,\nwithout any discrimination as regards the race, gender, sexual orientation,\nreligion, ethnic origin, citizenship, political orientation of the authors\nconcerned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Confidentiality<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The director\nand any member of the editorial team must not reveal any information on a\nmanuscript submitted for evaluation for the periodical to anyone who is not the\ncorresponding author, referee, potential referee, editorial consultants and editor,\nas appropriate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conflicts of interest and disclosure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unpublished\nmaterials contained in a sent manuscript must not be used when seeking an\neditor-in-chief or a member of the editorial team without the author\u2019s explicit\nwritten consent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DUTIES OF REFEREES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Contribution to editorial decisions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The peer review\npractice helps the director take editorial decisions and, through editorial\ncommunication with the author, may also help the latter improve his or her text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Respecting of timescales<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Referees who\ndo not feel suitable for the assignment proposed or who know that they will be\nunable to carry out the reading within the timescale required must notify the director\nof this promptly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Confidentiality<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every text sent\nout to be read must be considered confidential. Therefore, these texts must not\nbe discussed with other people without the director\u2019s explicit authorisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objectivity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The peer review\nmust be conducted objectively. All personal judgements of the author are\ninappropriate, as are any potentially offensive comments. Referees are required\nto provide suitable grounds for their judgements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Indication of texts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Referees undertake\nto indicate precisely the bibliographical details of fundamental works that may\nhave been neglected by the author. Referees must also make the director aware\nof any similarities or overlaps of the text received to be read with other\nworks known to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conflicts of interest and disclosure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reserved information\nor indications obtained during the peer review process must be considered\nconfidential and may not be used for personal ends. Referees are required not\nto agree to read articles concerning which a conflict of interest exists due to\nprevious relationships of collaboration or competition with the author and\/or\nwith the institution to which he or she belongs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DUTIES OF AUTHORS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Access to and storage of data<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the director\ndeems it appropriate, the authors of articles should also make the sources or\nthe data on which the research is based available, so that these may be stored for\na reasonable period of time after publication and that access may possibly be\ngiven to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Originality and plagiarism<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authors must\nguarantee that they have written entirely original works, and, if they have\nused the work and\/or words of others, that this has been appropriately\nindicated or cited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Multiple, repetitive and\/or competing\npublications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authors\nshould not publish articles describing the same research in more than one periodical.\nOffering the same text to more than one periodical at the same time constitutes\nethically improper and unacceptable conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Indication of sources<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authors must\nalways provide the correct indication of the sources and contributions\nmentioned in the article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ownership of the work<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ownership\nof the work must be correctly attributed and all those who have made a\nsignificant contribution to the conception, organisation, realisation and redrafting\nof the research that is at the basis of the article must be indicated as co-authors.\nIf other people have participated in a significant way to any phase of the research,\ntheir contribution must be explicitly recognised. In the case of contributions\nwritten by a number of people, the author who sends the text to the periodical\nis required to declare that they have correctly indicated the names of all the\nother co-authors, that they have gained the latter\u2019s approval of the final\nversion of the article and their consent to publication in the periodical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conflicts of interest and disclosure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All authors must\nindicate in their manuscript any financial conflict or other conflict of\ninterest that could be interpreted in such a way as to influence the results or\nthe interpretation of their work. All sources of financial support for the\nproject must be indicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Errors in published articles<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When an\nauthor discovers a significant error or inaccuracies in his or her published work,\nthey are obliged to inform the director of the journal or the editor promptly and\ncollaborate with the director in order to withdraw or correct the text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Copyright<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authors retain\nrights over their own works, assigning the right of publication to the periodical\non a non-exclusive basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a rel=\"license\" href=\"http:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by\/4.0\/\"><img alt=\"Creative Commons License\" style=\"border-width:0\" src=\"https:\/\/i.creativecommons.org\/l\/by\/4.0\/88x31.png\"><\/a><br>This work is licensed under a <a rel=\"license\" href=\"http:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by\/4.0\/\">Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License<\/a>.\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Open Access Policy This periodical provides open access to its contents, as it is considered that making the research freely available to the public improves the exchange of knowledge at global level.
